The Transatlantic Institute was founded in November 1999 as a scientific institution at the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society.

The Transatlantic Institute serves education, studies, applied research and development as well as scientific further education in the fields of economics. Building on its many years of experience with MBA programs, the Transatlantic Institute has been offering the MBA program in cooperation with AACSB-accredited US universities since 1999. Partners in the programs are corporations as well as medium-sized companies from a wide range of industries.

Its tasks are in particular

• Preparation and implementation of academic and international continuing education measures (especially MBA programs) in cooperation with US colleges and universities
• Implementation of research and development projects
• Development of teaching materials
• Scientific publications and
• Organization of public events, colloquia, workshops and conferences
